Northern Illinois 2019 Most Valuable Athletes Awards Celebration at NIU

Join us for Shaw Media's second annual Northern Illinois Most Valuable Athletes Awards Celebration!

The MVAs will be held at the NIU Convocation Center located in DeKalb, Illinois and will recognize outstanding prep athletes from across the Northern Illinois Region. Students will represent all of the communities covered by Shaw Media's local newspapers.

Awards will be presented to the Player of the Year in each sport, as well as Male Athlete of the Year and Female Athlete of the Year. Three scholarships will be awarded: one each to the Male and Female Athletes of the Year and one at random to an athlete in attendance.

Pro Football Weekly’s Hub Arkush will be the emcee for the evening, and Chicago Bears Akiem Hicks and former Bear Zach Miller will be the special guest speakers.

Doors open at 6:00 pm; event starts at 7:00 pm. Family, friends and the general public are invited to attend. Tickets are $40. MVA prep athletes are free. (To receive the free ticket, please enter the code from the invitation in the promo box at check-out.) Ticket includes dinner, awards ceremony and presentation. Seating is first-come, first-served.
